Preparation of papers
Scope of Papers
There is no template but IJEEE is an educational journal and papers should clearly demonstrate how the featured work advances student learning, and represents good teaching practice. Straightforward descriptions of technical research projects are unlikely to meet these 'educational' criteria. Prospective authors should therefore consider how they can include some discussion of relevant educational topics, such as comparisons of new with traditional approaches, evaluation, assessment, feedback and future developments in teaching methods.
Text
Typescripts should be double spaced, up to 15 pages in length (4500 words). If mailing please include a PC-compatible disc, preferably with the text in Microsoft Word format. On the disc the text should be saved as a single file including tables. Please list figure captions at the end. The hard copy and the disc versions must match exactly. Other formats, e.g. LaTeX, will be typeset from hard copy.
Illustrations
Please supply good quality black and white laser printouts, original artwork or glossy photographs as appropriate. Lettering should be simple, clear and large enough to allow for reduction of up to 50%. Please remove, or lighten as far as possible, background tints or shading. We can accept illustrations as electronic files in addition to identical black and white printouts. Preferred formats are .eps (Encapsulated PostScript) for line diagrams and .tiff (Tagged Image File), for screen shots and half-tones. The resolution should be at least 300 dpi. We are unable to use illustrations if they are embedded in a word processing text file. No more than five screen shots will be accepted unless by prior agreement; please keep the total number of illustrations to around ten.
Proofs
Authors will receive proofs to check. At proof stage we can correct only typographical errors.
