Guardian University guide 2012
2nd overall and leading in teaching and feedback.
The Complete University Guide 2012
9th overall and top for student satisfaction.
Once again the School has performes very well in the National Student Survey (NSS) with a score of 96% for overall student satisfaction. The score of 91% in Assessment and Feedback is the highest achieved by any university in this subject group and reflects our strong emphasis on communicating with students. The School scored over 90% in each of the six assessed sub-groups.
The above league tables should only be taken as a guide, we advise you to visit the universities and the Schools (Departments) that you are interested in if possible.
Each of the league tables is attempting to measure the same thing but use a different approach. For example we get ratings of 80%, 76% and 85% for employability. These are all based on HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) data but with a different interpretation. All of these scores are excellent especially considering that they do not take into account that a number of our graduates choose to take a year out after graduation, typically to go travelling or to get involved in volunteering, confident in the knowledge that they will get a job later.
