Congratulations Khaled Rabie, who has been nominated by the School of EEE for the Faculty’s Distinguished Achievement Award – PGR Student of the Year 2016.
Congratulations to Khaled Rabie, one of only seven students across the faculty to be nominated by the School of EEE for the Faculty’s Distinguished Achievement Award – PGR Student of the Year 2016.
The award recognises ‘outstanding academic excellence/achievement and is made to a student who has excelled in some significant manner during the course of their programme’
His nomination stated: Dr Rabie has performed exceptionally during his PhD in terms of research outputs and service to the School and University. His research work has contributed to the communication systems needed for the realisation of smart grids and homes which will ultimately lead to creating a greener world. He has successfully tackled three distinct areas of research and published more than 25 papers in leading journals and conferences. Khaled collaborated with other research groups nationally and internationally including researchers in Italy, South Africa and Saudi Arabia. He received the best student paper award at the leading conference on Power Line Communications (SPLC – Texas, 2015). Khaled contributed heavily to the School’s teaching and served as a PhD student representative in the School.
