Academic entry qualification overview:

The standard academic entry requirements for a Masters course will be a minimum of an upper second class UK honours degree, or international equivalent, in an electrical and electronic engineering discipline.

   

Applicants should have previously studied electronic, electrical, electromechanical, mechatronic or mechanical engineering, or another science and engineering subject providing a good background in electronics and mathematics.

English language:

You will need to be able to demonstrate competency in the English language and if do not already possess a recognised English Language qualification will need to take a test such as:

  • IELTS score of 6.5 overall with no sub-test of less than 5.5
  • TOEFL iBT score of 90 overall with no sub-test of less than 22
  • Pearson PTE score of 59 overall with no sub-test of less than 51
  • Cambridge CPE grade C

Some English language test results are only valid for two years. Your English language test report must be valid on the start date of your course.

If you do not currently have an English Language qualification at the required level then it may be possible to arrange a pre-sessional course, the duration of which will depend on your current English language qualification.
