Managing your money is one of the most important things you will learn at university.

Tuition Fee

Home/EU

The University of Manchester will charge a headline fee of £9,000 per year to home/EU undergraduates from September 2012.

This fee will enable the University to maintain the quality of a Manchester degree, invest in the wider student experience and offer a range of bursaries and discounts for students from less well-off backgrounds.

For home students there are no costs at the point of entry and tuition fee loans are available to cover the cost of the fee. Graduates will only start to repay tuition fee loans once they are earning over £21,000 per year.

International

Studying in the UK can be great value for money. UK degree courses are generally shorter than in the US and Australia because they are more intensive.

Tuition fees cover the cost of your study at the University and include charges for registration, tuition, supervision, examinations and graduation. Payment of fees will also entitle you to membership of the Library, the Students' Union and the Athletic Union.

To provide you with certainty in your financial planning, the University has fixed tuition fees for new international students for the duration of their course.

Any offer of a place at the University is made on the understanding that you have sufficient funds to cover your tuition fees and living expenses for the entire duration of your period of study.

Fees for students who intend to commence their studies in 2012 will be £16,700 per annum.

Funding

As well as student loans to cover fees and maintenance, students may also be awarded a scholarship to support you through your studies.
