“Enjoying Mathematics and Physics at school meant that when it came to choosing a university course, Engineering was the obvious choice. I also had an interest in business and professional services but didn’t want to be tied down to one career at such a young age. Having researched all the different types of engineering I discovered that, of all the engineering disciplines, Electrical and Electronic Engineering was the most relevant in this technological age that we live in. The speed at which technology has moved is astounding and one can only imagine what the future will bring. Studying EEE brings you to the forefront of this exciting, constantly evolving industry and by pursuing such a career I am excited with the possibilities and opportunities new technological advances will bring."

"I come from a small East-European country called Latvia.  I made a decision to study in the UK quite spontaneously when, about a year before graduating from high school, I realised that it was too easy for me to go into higher education at home.  My body and soul was craving more experience, challenges and discoveries.  Now, after three and a half years of living in Manchester and studying at the University of Manchester I can certainly say that this place gave all what my young personality demanded."

"Before applying to universities, I knew the subjects I was good at but was not sure about the branch of engineering to specialise in. I wanted an undergraduate degree which would equip me with a broad-based foundation on the fundamentals of electrical, electronic, communication and software engineering while at the same time providing me with opportunities to participate in extracurricular activities and develop other inter-personal skills. The university’s reputation in Engineering and the quality of its careers service were some of the main reasons why I chose to study Electrical and Electronic Engineering in Manchester."
