IEEE Invited Talk: Dr Noushin Karimian

We are proud to announce that Dr Noushin Karimian, a member of staff in School of EEE at the University of Manchester, has been invited by the IEEE Women in Engineering of the UK & Ireland, to give an invited talk entitled “Recent Advances in Electromagnetic Sensor Development: Power Station, Aerospace & NDT Applications” designed to inspire, educate and engage students and staff from Engineering and Computer Sciences disciplines.

Dr Noushin Karimian

The talk will take place on Monday 5th December 2016, from 13:00 until 15:00, at Manchester Metropolitan University

Dr Karimian is a Post-doctoral Researcher at the University of Manchester, actively involved in a number of European projects. Her main focus of research has been on development of Electromagnetic sensors for Non-Destructive Testing applications.

She has also been involved both as technical and organisational committee member of the European Microwave Week Conference 2016 (EuMW 2016) in London, where she was the operational Director, Chair of Women in Microwaves and Chair of Career Platform.

As a member of IEEE, IET, EuMA, BINDT and IOP, Dr Karimian is currently acting as the current Treasurer for the IEEE UK & Ireland Section, a committee member of the University of Manchester IEEE Student Branch. She is also a committee member of the IEEE UK & Ireland Women in Engineering (WiE).
