A paper written by Dr Atia Adrees, Dr Panagiotis Papadopoulos and Prof Jovica V Milanovic has been recognised as the best in the area of "Power system modelling and analysis" at the world's most prestigious Electrical Power Engineering conference.

The paper - "A Framework to Assess the Effect of Reduction in Inertia on System Frequency Response" - was delivered to the 2016 IEEE Power & Energy Society General Meeting held in Boston, USA between the 17th and 21st July.

The general meeting was attended by close to 3,300 delegates from around the world. The paper was one of four to be recognised, one in each of the four main streams of the conference.

Drs Adrees and Papadopoulos are both research associates within the school of EEE, whilst Professor Milanovic is Deputy Head of the School & Director of External Affairs.

More details of the conference itself can be seen at the official website.
