My MSc dissertation, undertaken in collaboration with Filtronic Broadband Limited, played a vital role in helping me secure the internship - which involved the design and characterisation of power amplifiers using CAD design tools and lab test equipments. The project was appreciated by my supervisors and the company, who not only got me a mark of 90% but also international exposure in the form of an internship.
Since I was responsible for the tasks assigned to me, I was given complete freedom to explore different ideas and find the best solution. My MSc studies helped me approach the task at hand while I constantly learnt new things from my supervisors.
The courses modules are designed in such a way as to start from the very basics and move right up to existing technology. This assisted me in getting concepts right in order to understand the technology and later find better ways to improve them.
The labs conducted for each unit were particularly interesting. The labs were designed to solve industry-related problems while working on advanced CAD software. This provided me with a strong foundation for using CAD tools which are used extensively in modern designs.
The labs and assignments compel you to think and find solutions. This is what will help you in the future. Apart from all the studies don't forget to enjoy life at university because this will never come again.
