For me, Manchester is a wonderful place to explore, to get a world class education, to try something new and to develop my skills.
I decided to choose this course because of my interest and background in microelectronics. At the same time, this course is important for my future work as part of my expertise development. The University of Manchester is an establish university because of its high rankings and, most importantly, its outstanding research excellence.
For me, Manchester is a wonderful place to explore, to get a world class education, to try something new and to develop my skills. The University sits in the heart of the city, surrounded by amenities. Most of the other universities I looked at had their buildings clustered within their own campus, apart from the town or city within which they were based. With multi-disciplinary courses offered, field expertise and research centres it is really a great feeling to be at The University of Manchester from the perspective of a new student.
This course has given me the opportunity to explore recent developments in advanced material devices, either from the fabrication or modelling perspective. The most valuable skill I have gained is critical thinking in solving research problems to meet specific targets and deadlines. I am also able to conduct research individually or in collaboration with other researchers.
I have been exposed to advanced research, gained knowledge from the experts and also gained experience of team work within a research group. Material resources are easily accessible which allows me to explore and challenge myself and to contribute to knowledge in my field of study.
Electronics engineering, and in my case experimental research, is fun. There's always an unexpected challenge which requires an original, and preferably quick, decision. I'm able to devote my full attention to research activities while still enjoying the wonderful Manchester life.
