Professional biography

I started my PhD at the University of Manchester in 2010. Before joining this university, I successfully obtained a Master of Engineering degree with honours from the University of Tokyo under Japanese government (Monbukagakusho) scholarship scheme.

During my master’s research, I worked in the field of the digital coherent optical receivers and invented a novel method of equalizing techniques in optical fibre impairments mitigation area.

In 2005, soon after completing the Bachelor of Science in EEE from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET), I started working as a telecommunication project engineer in Ericsson where I achieved two years’ industrial experiences and engineering project management skills.

Specific research interests

Terahertz quantum cascade lasers (QCLs), Microwave technology applied to THz QCLs, Photonic mode engineering and aperiodic lattice design, Tunable THz QCLs, Fiber optics and optical telecommunication.
Our group research will be found at: http://www.eee.manchester.ac.uk/research/groups/mandn/research/qcl_nanophotonics/aperiodic_lattices.html
